Chapter 14

I’m waiting for my bro to iron his smart wear so i can use the iron for my school blouse… why iron sch blouse?? let me tell you… retribution DOES EXIST!!!.. haha… was trying to tease woo in pizza hut today by tempting her with the waffle fries and without realising, i kana a patch of tomata sauce on my blouse!!! thanx… so i hafta do my own ironing now since mum is asleep… bro is going for the air force interview tomorrow in which it decides whether his army days will be flying a plane in the air or diving down the deep blue sea… of course, i pray for him to achieve the former… Go bro!!!

Just came back home from friendly with NYP at NYP… i think AJ Netball is STRONG de lor… haha… put the horse come man!!! initially, we were quite off form… 1st two quarts… but i think the team did great in the last few… special compliments to the defenders…. good job girls… i felt our mid court press… i see an improvement in the team… we’re playing as a TEAM now… yeah!!! on the other hand my shooting is super off today… gotta work on it girl… but i swear i was really confident for a few shots… it just didn’t go my way=(… well… shall reflect what’s wrong… mel said i kept breaking records today… first i broke the 200 successful shots in 8 mins record, then for the second set, i broke my own 200 record and shot in 216 in 8mins… WoOoOoOo!!!! feels GREAT!!! During one of the quarters i broke a record of getting zero attempts… 100% or 0%… haha… for that mel wrote N.A. (not applicable)… haha… so after the game i brought home with me a blue black on my elbow.. very pain i tell you… is the point… got a specific point… wah!!!

Pointers:

• Hold your run… Dun kpo kpo drive up and make the area so squeezy…
• beware of your own bounce pass…
• drive into the circle, block out the defenders, turn and offer…
• go for center pass, offer when needed… don’t lie to low…
• drive into defence and close it…
• feed in to shooter at first timing
• switch to defence mode fast
• dun everytime same pattern pattern… VARY!!!
• take every shot as if its your last shot

gotta go off for some pre spa mugging and some strengthening… buaiz…

Chapter 13

Counting down… 3 weeks plus… to the ultimate battle on court… it always seemed to be a remote dream… how will it end this time round?? 5 years of similar endings… the same passion burning, the same effort put in, the same goal… yet it always end with a mere “what matters most is the process”… true enough… but is that what i really want this time round after going through so much… so much indeed… i don’t want a mere glance on the trophy… i don’t want to yearn for it… I WANT IT… i want to own it!! there’s so much we’ve been through… depressing days, torturing days, giving up days… days i’ve stood on the cliff, days when Netball simply disappear from my heart, days when the passion is simply GONE…. and now… i know what i want… i know the passion still exists… the fire still burning… i treasure every single trainings… every chance to get on court… this time not for anyone else.. simply for the team and MYSELF… only i possess the power to manipulate my every move, every run, every pass, every shot, every interception… i am the force behind my dream… i gotta go all out… TOP 4…. i want the challenge boat we embarked to reach its destination… Go AJ Netball!!! Go weeliting!!!  

Chapter 12

I’m very very broke can… Ahhh!!!! help!!! 80 bucks to club fund, 28 bucks for the very much discounted adidas shoes (thanx to kit), 65 bucks for an ankle guard (investment though…), 53 bucks for team bag and team bottle…. and there’s much more stuffs to come… jersey, shoes, sports-b etc etc etc… hopefully can get as much subsidy as possible… can you see this super big hole in my pocket??? HeLp!!!!

Aniwae, i feel so stupid todae!!! haha… let me narrate wat happened…. the first incident was the gp grammer e-package thingy i’m supposed to complete like dunno how many days ago… i wasn’t able to download the file using my com… so there i went to use the computer in school… spent 2 and a half hours sitting there trying to complete the package… i was so stupid to think that the 2MB file couldn’t fit into the 512MB thumbdrive (which i thot was 512kb… some units error there)… so i didn’t save it in my thumbdrive instead run the program on the computer…. as i was happily doing it… finishing soon, a class came in to say they are having tutorial… i was like ahhhh…. how ar…. no choice, i just exited the program… 2 and a half hours of effort… GONE!!!! and thanx ar WX…. laughing at my stupidness… and i can’t stop complaning la… Argh!!! hafta re-do now… then came the second incident… was walking up the platform of the train station… as i walked, i turned 90 degrees to my left and for a second i didn’t realise its KIT standing there la… then we started laughing…. felt so stupid can… when you can or rather you’re supposed to recognise someone standing still there like say at most a few metres or centimeters away… and i actually didn’t! only realised it when she’s directly beside me.. and stoned there for a second somemore…. after the laughing and giggling we board the train… and as i alight upon reaching yishun, i stood among the crowd going out and coming in… and randomly turned back to kit and shouted: “oh ya! ninja turtle screening today!” then the people bulldozing their way through gave me funny looks la… felt so stupid once again… a 17 year old JC girl in uniform talking about ninja turtle… GAWD!!!! and i walked away quickly not turning back anymore… that sums up today’s stupidity….

so… tmr is yet another SATURDAY… wats on tmr… TRAINING as usual… let’s work hard people!!! we don’t have much time left… no… we’re not…erm… dying… just that season is COMING!!! Go kohhuishan!!!

Chapter 11

Was reflecting after reading Mel’s blog…. could see the TOP 4 desire in her… felt the motivation from there… i could say frankly i see very little hope in the team before the KL trip… almost facing the impossible i would say… though in my mind i kept telling myself nothing’s impossible and stuff liddat…. while reflecting in one of the days at KL… I saw hope… like a sudden strong feeling that we indeed have the potential to go far… Very far indeed… as long as we played to our fullest…. hmmm…. 1 more month to go… and that’s it…. that’s the end of A division championships… No more of it…. No more turning back of time… how am i going to conclude this chapter in life… it all lies in myself… how much am i willing to go…. for the trophy… for the glory… for a happy ending…. well, from those depressing days months ago…. we’ve been through it all… not even realising… its indeed not more than 12 trainings left to the battle on the court…. i see a change in my own mentality… for the better… but its still not enough…. from what i thought was a mental barrier…. to what was now a physical strain… i need the endurance!!! to fight this force holding me back…. no more doing things for the sake of doing…. i want NO REGRETS!!! JIA YOU!!!!

Chapter 10

KUALA LUMPUR OVERSEAS TRAINING TRIP

Day 1
12th March 2007

Left my house early in the morning while it was still pitched dark… along with me i brought along my little luggage in which i tried hard to put my whole house inside (plus my mum) but to no avail… hopped onto a cab with lun… and there we went to ajc… 6.30am for your info… From there we departed Singapore for Malaysia… so from the Tuas checkpoint, we went to the malaysia ‘Kastam’ (custom)…. alight at some place for light breakfast…  and travelled for another 2 hours plus for lunch at lucky palace restaurant… good food… yumyum… after lunch, we travelled another 2hours to KL… Grand Olympic Hotel was where we got off… Never judge a hotel by its name!!! sounds really GRAND yeah… but… yep… average… putting aside the little dampened spirit… we checked in and got ready for our first training… the sports complex is SOOOO far away can… it took us like less than 5mins to reach there… and the indoor court is humid and stuffy daoOooOoO…. Thinking back we actually endured thru more than 15hours there… power!!! training was alright i would say except the stuffy part… so after that… was wash up, clothes washing, toilet cleaning… haha… all the domestic chores… weeliting actually doing it… gawd!!! after which was dinner at Restoran Ngai Fong… similar food as lunch… but still tastes nice afterall… mini xiao qiang was spotted amongst the plate of cabbage… lolzxzx… we wanted a plate of pork in exchange.. but received another big plate of CABBAGE…. hahaha… after dinner was shopping at Chinatown… just like singapore’s bugis street… got myself a pair of shades… shop around… and we walked back to hotel after that… who cares about glamness in a foreign country where its not as if you will meet your eyecandy on the streets or something… haha… attire for the netballers was super casual… or i called it self-created-super-casual… where we rolled up our long track pants into some knee length pants, or even SHORTS for some… hang plastic bags over our shoulders like nobody’s business… hhaha… super funny… too bad i cant post the pictorial evidence here… back in the hotel with roommate lun, we enjoyed some er ren shi jie… hahaha… did some reflections and watched fight back to school… lolzx… Lala land was next… well, obviously with two of us as roommates.. our room is kept clean and tidy throughout ^^ haha… as both of us possess a little timidness, our room is brightly lit despite being in lala land… well, at least we weren’t like 424 roommates, who puposely switched on the television while asleep… haha… our room is 423 anyway….

Day 2
13th March 2007

6.45am… we pulled ourselves out of bed… wash up and went for a breakfast buffet… Match review was first followed by training… training was rather deadly… especially the sprints and drills… after training, we went for lunch at some famous bak kut teh place… we went back to the hotel after that… took a 15 mins power nap… and got ready for friendly… 6 quarters of friendly… 10 mins each…. and i managed to get to play 5… overall, first two quarts were quite poorly played… as usual, we got hell from her… the spectators thunderous claps and roars did drowned our voices of communication and encouragements… we maanaged to pick ourselves up after that… tt’s good^^…. and i managed to achieve my 100% shooting for two quarters… yeah!!! though its kinda of low scoring but… tt’s like my first 100% can…. shall work harder for higher scorings!!! jia you!! there’s quite a number of stuffs we could learn from them… their team spirit… their high morale…. its somthing we ought to improve on… Go ppl!!!! after the friendly, we had another round of match review and of course, a sumptous dinner followed by reflections back in hotel…

Day 3
14th March 2007

6.30am was the time we ought to report for morning training… we were late so we had to bear the consequences… 49 rounds around the netball court… more than 4km… under 25mins… very strenous in the mind… but we endured through it eventually… good job girls=) satisfaction was what we felt after the whole thing… training was very tiring… very!!! lunch was next at a thai restaurant… tom yam soup!!! weee!!! i think i drank more ice water than soup though… ahaha… friendly was okay i felt… like always… its still not my best… gotta work harder… after friendly, we had steamboat for dinner… then went to times square for a little shopping… we were damn high when we head towards the indoor theme park…. some even ran to the loo to pee and got ready for a thrilling ride on the rollercoaster.. but to our disppointment… it was closed when we reached… argh… so we went shopping for icecream… got a little smiley face each for our team bag… wooo!!! afterwhcih we went back to hotel for another round of match review^^… 12pm… head back to our rooms for some reflections and writings… then all of them gathered in our room for some brigde sessions, speed, mini mahjong and small chats… shared around our reflections for individuals… and concluded that woo is not sincere in her writing.. haha… (qiu gan, qiu gan ba)… lolzxz.. and the (your fakes look more and more real)… haah… oh ya… not forgetting super unglam kai hui… her hair-setting, her loud sneeze and her re-eating of the seaweed… lolzxzx.. super funny… not forgetting xueli’s super funny looks… nat’s never opening eyes… hhahaha…. 4am… we went to zZzZzz….

Day 4
15th March 2007

last day of the trip… packed up… and we checked out of the hotel… good bye to the sports complex and off we went for sightseeing… first stop was some ulu place for breakfast… some of us sat outside the shop in the center and fell asleep… and the security guard DIDN’T came in to chase us out… didn’t…. hahaha… “Hey!! no sleeping… you want sleep… outside sleep!!!” lolxzzx… after that we went to the famous twin tower… 88 floors… we went to the 42nd floor i think… snapping photos here and there for 10 mins.. and we were told to leave le… after which… we went shopping some where… lunch was next…. and we left KL for singapore le… 3 hours plus of bus ride… got off at yong peng for some local goods shoppping and had our dinner there… travel for another 2hours plus… and reached singapore…. got off at ajc…. 10pm plus le… cab home with lun and ms tan…. tt’s all folks…

Overall… the trip did bond the team together in someway or another… got to know some of the juniors better… AJC NETBALL 2007 is a super fun team i would say… there’s something funny about every individual to laugh about.. haha… way to go TEAM!!!

Chapter 9

MARCH!!!! ahh….. so fast….. i seriously need to start exercising some self-discipline and stop procrastinating… though it has always been my forte and i probably wouldn’t be able to kick this habit of mine overnight… BUT!!! i need to do it… cause i have to cross another bridge this year… CAMBRIDGE!!! aha… lame…

Just got back my chinese results yesterday… Got a B… still alright la… surprisingly desmond got an A can… haha… grats dude… and he’s still searching all over the result slip for an alphabet other than A… haha.. how funny… Bro got back his A’s results too… he did ok… BBA and B3 for gp…. always set so high target for me…. thanx ar…. seniors did really well too^.^ congrats=) 1 year from now….. i cannot imagine… haha… aniwae… that’s a full-stop to my chinese lessons for my entire life!! woooo!!! remember when i was younger, my mum forced me to memorise all the characters in the chinese textbook… together with my elder brother, we shut ourselves in the studyroom… practising all the chinese characters… and having to bear a stroke of the cane with a wrong character written… we weeped as we mugged… thank god my chinese is a little better than him, i watched him suffered more than he watched me… then as we grew older, we would use a cassette recorder to record our voice as we pronounce the words and replay it as a form of a test to write out those chinese characters… haha… but this time round no more caning to bear =X haha… and now… no more chinese for me… haha… need to thank my mum of course… for building my foundation for this subject… though forcefully but… i owe my results to her^.^ thanx mum…

These few days, it kept on raining… caught a flu lately… cannot sleep well la… always feeling sleepy and tired… zZzZzZz… anyway, wednesday friendly was cancelled because of the rain… we returned back to school for training… and it was still raining… we were literally drenched when we got back to school… no court… never mind… no track.. never mind… got stairs and cones can already… hahaha… and guess what.. Mel is back!!! haha… we were all glad she’s back here with us… jia you mel!! jia you aj netball!!!
