Chapter 28

P.O.S!!! What I’ve blogged for the past half an hour is GONE!!!! aRGh!!! The post, the photos… AHHHHH!!! nvr mind i shall blog again…

INTERHOUSE DRAGONBOAT

I definitely urged AJcians to take part in this event next year… You can expect great fun and enriching lessons out of this… It would be a good time for bonding as well…
It was 7am in the morning and as usual, i was late… sorry guys.. We headed to Kallang Basin from TPY… Around 8am, we got ourselves all geared up, all ready for the very much anticipated moment to be out in the sea.. opps… ‘basin’ i mean… Panther house got for ourselves a yellow boat covered in black strips that look something like a tiger and we had with us instructer Z and Mervin.. Off we went, paddling in the waters and learning some basic skills of paddling and dragonboat strategies… Z emphasizes on how the heart of a dragonboat should beat as one and the importance of coordination as well as teamwork and stuffs… All of us were rather quiet and shy at first but we got ‘warmed-up’ after awhile… We did well for practise in preparation for a 3 round race… The race was about to commence and we started paddling to the starting point.. On our way there, we took a few minutes break and instructor Mervin got us to do some stretches…We held our paddles up high and those seated on the left stretched to the left while those seated on the right stretched to the right…  “Alright, now everyone stretched inwards”… We did as we were told… Then the boat started to tilt to the left… Everyone went “WoOoOaAaAA”.. The next moment, the DRAGONBOAT CAPSIZED!!! mind you, its a DRAGONBOAT… the possibility of a dragonboat capsizing is like 0.01%… haha.. And we kinda did it… the funniest thing is there’s no HUGE waves or collision… we were… merely doing our STRETCHING… haha.. it’s super funnny… We struggled out to the surface of the waters and the first thing we did was to LAUGH!! coz its super hilarious.. “WoOaA” Then u see ppl start dropping into the water… and the next funny thing is EVERYONE came out from one side of the boat… hahaha…. When i was out on the surface i could feel my partner jianrong struggling under water.. he was kinda stuck in the boat… then when i was about to stretch out my hand under water to save him… he was gone!! but he managed to wriggle out from somewhere… haha.. and the first thing he shouted was “MY SLIPPERS!!” We all burst out laughing… Paddles, slippers, bottles, floating everywhere… We tilt the boat over and some of them started bailing out the water using those bathing de pail… this small ones with a handle kinda pail… the rest held on to the boat for support the someone in the water said,”Hey, hold up the SHIP..”…. SHIP!! lolzxzx… we all laughed out loud… haha… while some of them were trying to empty the boat, those in the water started shaking hands and introducing ourselves.. What a great time and venue for bonding.. lolzxz… Finally, the boat was emptied and we started climbing back up into it… This time round, we were SUPER HIGH on board… We started cheering and doing our drills super loudly… We’ve done something the instructors heve yet experienced before in his 8 years of dragonboating afterall… lolxzzx… The race still continues… With Panther house being vat the 3rd lane… Paddles up and off we went… All out until the boat from the 1st and 2nd lane came colliding into us…. Then a little commotion and we managed to shove away from the site of collision and chiong all the way to the finishing point… Panther house emerged 3rd… It started drizzling thereafter and we were told the race shall end with just 1 round… Though its of a lottle disappointment but who cares, our boat did something the rest have not even done… Haha… We went back to shore with our spirits held high… After the debrief and prize presentation, it started pouring… we were dismissed and we grabbed our belongings… me, ant and sh ran all the way to the Kallang Stadium… We got ourselves washed up and cabbed down to Marina Square for lunch…

Chapter 27

“The football is my life” – a speech given by an AJcian during morning announcement today… I was immersed in his words and the speech seriously set me thinking through that few minutes in the AJ square.. It was about how he relates his life to a football… There are countless balls placed at the sideline before the start of the match.. but a particular ball was choosen for the game just like how he managed to get a scholarship and given the opportunity to come to Singapore to pursue his academic goals, outshining his peers back in his homeland… He continued to talk about how the referees came into the picture to ensure fair play. Just like in life our parents often play the role as the head referee, making fair and the best decision for us… Friends and relatives play the role of assistant referees where they were approached to discussed whatever that is controversial and helps in making the best decision possible… I was glued to the speaker as he continues his story… The football is always seeking in a direction, the goalpost… Just like how we seek for our dreams in life, we are faced with defenders who serve as obstacles to hinder us from achieving our goals. Regardless of the obstacles, the ball continues its battle against the opponent…

I totally agree with the contents of the speech… It reflects our life protrait… We are like the water flowing in the stream, penetrating through the valleys into the warm embrace of the sea… Rocks and stones in the river obstructed our path to our final destination but no matter what opposes our motion, we flow forward ceaselessly, seeking our eventual ‘home’. In fact, there’s many illustrations in which one can relate to life… we each have our own life story… we each have our own tales to share… some of us achieved alot in life, some of us merely scrape through our lives… some of us lead an exciting life, and some just pass their days with minimal happenings… just like there’s no two football games that are exactly the same… some games ended with a drastic difference in the scores, some games ended with fairly low scoring… Some games got the spectators off their seats, some games made the spectators lie low and dozed off… So what kind of football game illustrates your life?? Its something worth thinking…

Chapter 26

HAPPY BDAE KITTY NG!!!

Haha…. Todae’s Mrs Kitty Chua 18th birthday… like finally right, shihui?? opps… did i say she’s mrs kitty chua?? no i din i din… haha… Sassie Chua is 1 day old… lolzxz… Who’s sassie??? Shan’t tell you… haha… We bought 18 presents for this girl ranging from alphabet A to R…. there’s B for body foam to E for elastic rubberband to I for inflated balloon to L for laundry bin to P for princess cookies to Q…. Q for QUAIL EGGS!!! Haha… super random..credits to des lim for coming up with this dumb idea of q for quail eggs… lolzxz… aniwae, lun, sh, shuang and me cabbed to bishan after physics tutorial for Sakae Sushi.. YUMMY!!! We ate, we joked, we ate, we played bridge, we ate, we played speed, we ate, we did magic, we ate, they went to the loo, and we ate and ate… haha… nice slacking feeling.. life without exams are simply wonderful… so carefree and relaxed… =)

Smile for a mile campaign is coming to an end… shall update on a later date regarding the exact number of tags sold and funds raised… Some photos to share..

Chapter 25

One moment we were joking around the dining table, enjoying the tender meat of the grilled salmon and gorging down a scoop of strawberry ice-cream as dessert. The next moment we received a totally unexpected phonecall announcing a death in the family. A total change of ambience left us stranded with a total blank in the mind. I stared uncomprehendingly into the bloodshot eyes of my Mum. My ‘grandfather’ is dead.

Why the inverted commas. I shall not go into the details. But I’ve seen him less than 10 times in my entire 18 years. If you ask me how I felt that very moment. I was in a state of shock. We hurried home to get change and I accompanied my Mum to TTS hospital. We were told he collapsed on the street and by the time he was rushed to the hospital, his heart has stopped beating.

Life is so vulnerable in fact. Now, I see the transient side of life. Time doesn’t stop clocking just because a life has extinguished just like that. At any moment someone may be gone, their mortal body expire, simply disappearing from this world. That someone may be one who’s dear to you or a total stranger you have never even met before. We must cherish and treasure what is standing before us. There will always be a tomorrow but you can never predict the value of the term tomorrow. Death is sudden and seeks no permission. All we can do is to cherish the present. If you have a dream, pursue it with zest, achieve it. You live life only once. The way how you colour your life protrait is in your own hands. After all the trials and tribulations you walk on the same journey just like anyone else.

Chapter 24

Morning was lazy as usual… I woke up slightly earlier and managed to bulldozed my way through the bustling crowd and got for myself a 20cm by 20cm standing area in the earlier than usuals train… Although i was always seen as the one who stepped onto the station platform only at the moment the “door closing” signal sounded… i manage to spot a good space, make a slight turn and there i am in the train already… and greeted by those desperate faces trying to seek high and low for a spot (still on the platform).. haha… Maybe that’s a skill i acquire after these years…

School started off with thunderous laughter in 412 where we were playing some silly mMmjiji-liked games… on top of that, we’ve been rather entertained by the kitty and daniel scandal… shall not be too detailed about this… haha… the day passed quite fast… and school finally ended with math peer tutoring at ard 4 plus… after which me and shi hui and lun stayed behind to do some revision… me and shihui were so into completing the revision excercise we stayed on till 6.30 to finish it… those stats questions were so tough la… we managed to solve everything and discussed=) more of such daes to come yeah… felt really satisfied after completing=)

Tomorrow’s officially the start of SMILE FOR A MILE JOGGING WEEK… Thanx again to all who support… Well, maybe you can question yourself, when’s the last time you ran with a smile, when’s the last time you ran without any dreadful thoughts at all… perhaps to some, including me, you may have run with a goal in mind prior to any competitions… But ask yourself again, was that effort put in for yourself or for someone else? I believe most of us will have the former as our answer.. We want to break our limits and do the best that we could… Now, we have this opportunity for all fellow ajcians to sweat it out just to put a smile on those who are less fortunate than us… It’s a chance for us to finally have a reason to run… Not for NAPFA, Not for competitions… Just for that smile that travels miles and miles to those who are physically disabled… We know the distance of a mile… We know how much a dollar’s worth… But we do not know the value of a smile that in fact meant alot to them…

You could do more to help… Additional tags can be adopted during your morning PE sessions from the PE department….

haha…. blog’s been dead for quite sometime…. not really here to revive it coz as the title says, it’s just simply a random post…. haha… to sum everything up…. season’s over way long ago… june hols is here… and i hereby declare june hols= MUGGING MONTH…. so to prevent myself from sitting in front of the computer and wasting my time away i shall not come online unless necessary… Anyway the few of us are into planning this ” smile for a mile” campaign thingy that shall be a blast hopefully in term 3 provided it being successfully proposed…. so pls do support kz… there’s maran tmr… and more marans coming up… hopefully it will get me somewhere for mid year…. like i say this is a random post… so i’m literally blabbering my thoughts off randomly… kz… random ending to a random post… bye…
