Chapter 60

Goal…. What’s your goal in life???
Have you thought about it before…

What do you want to achieve…
What do you want your future to be like….
A black and white movie with no climax or a happening one that keeps your attention glued…
A slave to society or a millionaire…
A plate of chicken rice at kopitiam that cost 2 bucks or a feast at some high end restaurants accompanied by comfy sofa seats and commedable services…

The importance of goals… How much do you know…
The components to success, what does it comprise of…

After some chat sessions over dinner with timothy, heard of his background and stories…
I was inspired…
He made logical calculations to me and made me go…
“Wow… I better buck up now… for my future…”

Here it goes…
Being 19 years of age this year, and say I made it to university…
Fees plus expenditure for the next 3-4 years, it all adds up to around 30k MINIMUM…
and by then i’ll be like 23 years old…
23 years old… I’ll be in a deficit of 30K to pay back to my parents or loans etc…
Say i get a job immediately after uni, and my monthly pay is around 1.8k…
300 bucks goes to my allowance for the month and tt is only 10bucks for each day…
100 bucks for transport and other expenditure….
200 bucks for my parents and brothers…
each month i’ll only save 1.2k…
To earn back the deficit of 30k, i’ll hafta save up for 25months AT LEAST…
tt’s like 2 years plus and i’ll be 25, 26 by then…
AND at that age my bank will still be ZERO in fact….

then so old le hafta save up get married or backside itchy want buy car…
haha… another 5 years down the road with expenditure and all the tax burden increasing and increasing….
I can never expect to see myself leading a financially stable life let alone a stress free one…

On top of that, I will never want to live on my parents…
Instead I want them to lead a good life…
My dad’s wish is to buy a landed property so we can build a building with 4 apartments…
One for him and mum, another apartment for kor, another for me and the last one for wei…
And we’ll all live under one roof…
I wanna help him achieve that…
And I dun wan my mum to fret over the money issue…

Financial stability to me is important…
Some may say simple life will do… But to me….
I want to be RICH and I want to be SUCCESSFUL….
One can go on talking about this, cause talking is FOC, free of charge…
SUCCESS doesn’t come out through the mouth…

SUCCESS = EFFORT + HARDWORK + SACRIFICES

My goal… Is to establish my own business one fine day…
The field I have yet thought of it…
But i know it is the opportunities I have to grab…

By this year I want to see myself saving up my first 5 digits…
Attainable only if I believe…

First Day of CNY…
The Wee family stick to our family tradition and the first thing before setting off for visiting was nevertheless BAI NIAN to mum and dad…

Of course the spick and span state of the house is per annum… haha…

The day started off wif the peeps meeting up at KL place…
After which was visiting again wif my parents…
Late evening sees me mahjong-ing at Lun’s place with ah bei and AHMINAH..

Forth day of CNY…
MJ at min’s place till ard evening…
After which returned back home coz haojun’s family cuming over…
So me, kor, wei, haojun and bro, siewwen…
We played blackjack… and yeah… won some $$$$…
The guys hafta book in after tt… So it was only a short session….

Monday…. Fifth day of CNY…
AKA heng kang day!!!
Half day of work… and we received ang bao again… WoOOo….
The team went off for lunch at AMK suki sushi…
and headed for a pool session while we await the screening of KungFu Dunk…
Basically the new year was FUN FUN FUN!!!

Results coming out real soon…
Everything was destined and decided…
Kept dreaming of all the Ds tt ‘will’ appear on the slip…
and waking up in cold sweat….
Lun says the plane may crash…
Or rather due to suction on their way back to Singapore,
the results get suck out of the plane and lands in the pacific ocean….
ok whatever….

Chapter 58

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE everyone!!!

The past four days were rather happening… Here it goes…

SATURDAY – LLABTEN INTERNAL CARNIVAL!!!
team UGLY came in FIRST!!!! weEeEeEt!!!!
Haha… but that was coz the other team played random positions la…
Everyone was happy at the end of the day…
And despite the rain that came at the wrong timing, our spirits were not dampened…
It was JUST FUN!!! laughing at all the clumsiness…
The dumbest part about wet ground and frictionless soles is how UNGLAM you can get when you go for the ball…
There’s a missed pass and the ball rolls on the court from one end to another…
The next moment you see 3 to 4 people runnning for the ball…
And then when you’re about to reach the ball you slow down your run…
Afraid of slipping and falling and your legs weigh like tonnes now…
Lifting them up one by one you look like one clumsy elephant or hippo…
Squatting down in a shitting position just to pick the ball up…
HAHA… that was basically wat i did la… UNGLAM!!! gawd….

SUNDAY – FAREWELL FOR Zul with ‘the family’
Zul’s going off on an attachment trip to Perth…
We had Seoul buffet and all four of us dig in on all the la-las and mussels and cockles…
Got some gift for zul… A razor and a diary…

MONDAY – Orientation at ActionMax
Well… I’ve gotten a new job!!!!
ActionMax is a sales and marketing company under this big company call Prime Vision International…
Basically each of the managers own a company themselves, just like each state having their own ruler and all the states are under this KING…
Smth liddat… My manager is this really nice and friendly girl named Serene and guess wat…
She’s only TWENTY-TWO… manager!!!
The job is very sales-oriented and performance driven…
Its not those kind you face the computer for the whole day….
You get to actually go out and interact with the public…
So Monday was actually the orientation, and i tagged along my trainer to observe the way to clinch the deal…
After the whole day out… I was confirmed by the trainer and my work starts the next day=)

TUESDAY – First day at work!!!
The office is at Aljunied…. kinda FAR!!!!!
BUT…. I was overwhelmed by the highness and excitement of the team of people there…
The moment I stepped in… It was BLASTING music and the people there just approached me and introduce themselves..
Really very friendly and nice people…
Early in the morning and you hear blasting music and everyone greeting each other with high-fives and stuff…
I was kinda awkward coz they are super high… haha…
But there was a purpose to everything la..
the music was actually to make us raise our voice to talk and ‘warmup’ ourselves so as not to bring our sloppish side to the customers out there…
And next up, they don’t just take the stock and went off for sales…
There were games!!!! haha…
Happening lah!!! We played charade for that day…
So after games and stuff… we went off to our respective sites…
Me and Timothy, my trainer, head to AMK…
It wasn’t as easy as i thought it is…
I was like stammering for the first few pitching…
After which it was so much better… Gets more smooth and fluent….
So I clinch 27 donations coz we’re currently doing this charity event…
It was abit below wat I aimed for… But they said it was good for the first day already=)
The pay’s good too… and its more of interpersonal skills and communication skills you learn here…
On top of that, I believe I will grow to like this job alot coz the people here are really nice…
Furthermore, samantha is here…. haha!!!

Its getting late already… bettter go ZZzZzz now…
Dun wanna get panda eyes for the first day of new year… haha…
HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone…

Chapter 57

AI netball reunion was cancelled…
Meeting up with Zul was also cancelled…
So… It was FAMILY TIME!!!
My pay from Active came in today…
Since kor booked out todae, I treat mummy and kor and wei to dinner…
Dad’s working late todae… so yep….
I suggested Sakura buffet at tpy… But FULL house…
So we went to Crystal Jade for la-mian xiao long bao instead…
After dinner, it was Kbox-ing time…
From 7 till 11.30…
We could sing till 2am actually… But hafta chiong cab home before the 50% extra charge!!!
Haha… Spent like 200 bucks… But mum paid 50…. So i pay 50 bucks lesser.. Weet…
And kor foot the transportation back home…
Felt a teeny weeny bit of a pinch there…
Teeny bit coz its still HARD-EARNED money… But since its for the family=)
Its worth the fun and company that’s priceless…

Tomorrow’s Llabten internal carnival!!!
GO TEAM UGLY!!! We’re gna be in the….. SECOND place!!! Haha!!
Hopefully there’s great fun awaiting us tmr!!!
